Celebrating Our Chief Nurse: Lisa Locker Awarded the Title of Queen’s Nurse

We’re delighted to announce that our Chief Nurse, Lisa Locker, has been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse.

The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) welcomed 510 new Queen’s Nurses last month, bringing the total to over 3,300 across England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

The QICN is a national, influential charity that champions the best possible nursing care for patients at home and in the community.

Queen’s Nurses are committed to the highest standards of patient care, and the title is awarded to those who demonstrate outstanding commitment to nursing practice and leadership.

Reflecting on her achievement, Lisa said:

“The benefits of being a Queen’s Nurse are immense. In my role, I have the opportunity to work across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland in community care delivery, which offers unique opportunities to learn, support, and influence the future of community nursing.

I am proud to advocate for everything the QICN stands for, and I look forward to becoming more involved at a regional level, supporting projects and contributing my time wherever I can.”

A Queen’s Nurse represents the very best in nursing: combining exceptional clinical skills with compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to improving health outcomes. Their impact reaches far beyond individual patient care, they shape teams, uplift communities, and inspire colleagues across the profession.

At Hallam Medical, we’re proud that our Chief Nurse, Lisa Locker, holds the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse. Lisa already brings extensive experience and strong leadership to our business, and this recognition further highlights the dedication and support she gives to both our team and the wider healthcare community.

  • For our clients, this means trusted expertise, innovative approaches to care, and leadership that drives excellence.
  • For our clinicians, it means being supported by someone who understands the realities of frontline healthcare, while championing professional growth, wellbeing, and the highest standards of patient care.

Lisa will formally receive her award in November in London. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and delighted to celebrate alongside all the new Queen’s Nurses.

Congratulations, Lisa!
