Children’s Community Nurse (Band 6)
Posted 11 August 2026 by NafeesaHallam Medical has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Children’s Community Nurse to join a Community Children’s Nursing Service (CCNS) in the London Borough of Newham.
We are looking for an experienced Children’s Nurse with strong clinical skills, excellent communication and the ability to work confidently within a community setting.
You will provide high-quality community-based nursing care to babies, children and young people from pre-term to 19 years, supporting those with a range of health needs across homes, schools and clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a clinical caseload and deliver individualised programmes of care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- Support children and young people with a range of conditions, including complex and life-limiting needs.
- Work collaboratively with families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Act as a specialist resource for other professionals and promote evidence-based community nursing practice.
Client Requirements:
- Registered Children’s Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Relevant paediatric nursing experience, ideally within a community setting.
- Experience caring for children with complex, acute or long-term health needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child/family-centred care.
- Excellent communication, organisational and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to travel between community settings as required.
