NMC announce 12-week Revalidation Extension to help Nurses due to revalidate during COVID-19 pandemic
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) have announced a 12-week extension for Nurses due to revalidate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a practising Nurse you will already be aware that you are required to renew your registration every three years with the NMC through revalidation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the NMC have recognised that there have been some factors that have affected your ability to develop new skills and your knowledge.
If you were due to revalidate in March, April, May and June this year, the NMC have automatically extended revalidation application dates by 12-weeks. You should have received an email from the NMC confirming your revalidation extension application date.
If you are due to revalidate in July and August of this year and need more time to complete your application you can request a 12-week extension through your NMC online account.
This can be done only when your revalidation application is open.
You can find out more information on revalidating during COVID-19 by visiting the NMC website here: https://www.nmc.org.uk/covid19-revalidation
