The QICN Integrated Care Board Chief Nurse Network (ICB Chief Nurse Network)
The QICN Integrated Care Board Chief Nurse Network (ICB Chief Nurse Network)
Hallam Medical is delighted to be supporting the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing – Integrated Care Board Chief Nurse Network (ICB Chief Nurse Network).
The ICB Chief Nurse Network is an initiative by The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) and NHS Confederation to support nurse leadership within integrated care systems.
The network is chaired by Louise Patten, ICS Strategic Advisor at the NHS Confederation.
Recognising that ICB Chief Nurses have very different leadership roles, the QICN and NHS Confederation partnership will work with ICB Nurses to achieve the objectives of strong system leadership, integrating care and tackling inequalities in health.
Working in partnership and supporting the ongoing work of the ICB Chief Nurse Network:
- Demonstrate our commitment to providing our clients with experienced Community Healthcare Specialists
- Remain at the forefront of best practice
- Continue to provide our clients with forward-thinking, effective, and professional service.
Integrated Care Systems in England
Statutory ICSs comprise 42 integrated care boards (ICBs) responsible for planning and funding most NHS services in their area, and integrated care partnerships (ICPs) committees that bring together partners (including local government, the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, NHS organisations and others) to develop a health and care strategy for the area. Working through their ICB and ICP, ICSs have four key aims:
- improving outcomes in population health and health care
- tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience and access
- enhancing productivity and value for money
- helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development.
“This exciting partnership between the QNI and the NHS Confederation offers all ICB Chief Nurses the opportunity to share their experiences as they develop their wider leadership role. The wide range of size and demography of each ICS means these Chief Nurse roles require very different skills and I am so very grateful to our sponsors, Hallam Medical, who have enabled us to establish such an important collaborative network.”
