Hallam Medical has opportunities for Emergency Care Practitioners (ECP) to support a Minor Illness Service which operates across the Cumbria region.

We are looking for motivated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join a busy Minor Illness Service in Cumbria.

This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients presenting with a broad range of undifferentiated minor illness and urgent primary care conditions.

In this role you will:

  • Work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary team and will utilise advanced clinical assessment and independent prescribing skills to deliver safe, effective, and timely care while helping to reduce pressure on primary and urgent care services.
  • Undertake advanced clinical assessment, history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and management of patients across all age groups.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses, request and interpret appropriate investigations, prescribe independently, provide safety-netting advice and determine appropriate onward referral or escalation where required.
  • Manage a wide variety of presentations, including dermatological, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, respiratory, ENT, ophthalmic and minor infectious conditions, ensuring care is delivered in line with national guidance and local clinical pathways.
