Reflecting on the AAPE UK Annual Conference 2024
Leading Together for Sustainability in Advanced Practice Education
On Friday, 6 December 2024, the Association of Advanced Practice Educators UK (AAPE UK) hosted its free virtual annual conference, themed ‘Leading together for sustainability in advanced practice education’.
The conference attracted over 1,000 delegates, which is the highest attendees to date, reflecting the growing importance of advanced practice education and leadership.
As part of our partnership with the AAPE UK committee team, Hallam Medical once again sponsored the conference. Anna Jones, Chair of AAPE UK, welcomed attendees and thanked Hallam Medical for their unwavering support.
The conference provided a platform for attendees to listen and engage with a range of topics, highlighting the dynamic landscape of advanced practice education. Key presentations included:
- Perspectives on Collaborative Leadership
- Implications of Advanced Practice Regulations for Higher Education Institutes
- Compassionate Leadership
- Contributions from the Four Countries
- Launch of the “Advanced Practice Research” Academy
- NMC Advanced Practice Regulation Updates
The day ended with the annual general meeting (AGM) and the announcement of the poster presentation winners by Hallam Medical Chief Nurse, Lisa Locker. This year’s submissions focused on sustainable leadership in advanced practice education, and the winners were:
- Jess Carpenter: Step up to step down carbon footprint
- Allan Gardner and Lynne Harrison: Enhancing learner success: improving end point assessment pass rates for ACP learners
- Amy Foster, Vicky MacArthur, and Lynn Sutcliffe: Increasing the ontological fidelity of interactive online case-based informed learning using Thinglink and Adobe Firefly
The AAPE UK annual conference once again proved to be an inspiring event and we are very proud to work in partnership with the team at AAPE UK.
