Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
Posted 31 July 2026 by LucieHallam Medical has locum opportunities for Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to support Primary Care Centres across North West London and North Central London.
As an ANP, you will manage a varied caseload, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients presenting with a range of urgent primary care conditions. Patients are booked directly via NHS 111 and the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), with opportunities to work autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload, assessing and treating patients presenting with a wide range of urgent primary care needs and undifferentiated conditions.
- Providing face-to-face consultations for patients booked via NHS 111 or the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS). Telephone consultations may also be required when there are no face-to-face appointments.
- Independently assessing, diagnosing, prescribing (where appropriate), treating, and safely discharging or referring patients.
- Working collaboratively with clinicians within the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) to enhance the patient experience and help reduce unnecessary Emergency Department attendances.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
Client Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s level qualification or equivalent advanced clinical practice training.
- Independent Non-Medical Prescriber (V300).
- Significant experience working within primary care, urgent care, walk-in centres, out-of-hours services, or emergency care.
- Ability to autonomously assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with minor illness and urgent primary care conditions.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Appropriate professional indemnity arrangements.
