Stress Awareness Month 2024
Today marks the start of Stress Awareness Month 2024.
The theme this year is “Little by Little, A Little Becomes A Lot”.
Stress Awareness Month takes place annually to highlight and raise awareness of the causes and cures of stress, as well as encourage people to talk openly to others about the impact of stress.
During this month, health care professionals and health promotion experts across the nation will come together to increase public awareness.
How stress can affect you in healthcare.
We know working within healthcare is extremely rewarding but we realise it can also be stressful.
For many of us working within healthcare, the effects of being on our feet all day and working long, busy, shifts can mean that stress becomes a part of everyday life.
No matter how much you love your job and love what you do, work can often be stressful, and stress can have a significant impact on your health and wellbeing.
Learning to develop healthy habits and coping strategies can help you to cope with stressful situations and avoid stress having a negative impact on your overall health.
Tips to help with de-stressing.
Relaxing at the end of a long day at work is a great way to unwind and de-stress but with other responsibilities and family commitments outside of work can make it tricky to avoid.
In recognition of National Stress Awareness Month, the NHS website have shared their top 10 stress busters on how you can cope with the demands of your job and help to reduce stress.
